2004 Macau Hualian Raw Puerh Brick
The 04 Macau Hualian brick is one of our favorite teas. It's lively in the mouth, with a thick and vibrant mouthfeel. It's got a clean aged taste, very sweet with a bit of wild honey and bakery spice aromas mingling among camphor, leather, and a hint of smoke.
Macau Hualian Tea Company was founded in the 1950s and became the sole authorized distributor for China's state tea export company in Macau. Their brick series, starting in 1997 with their very well-known 97 Hualian Brick, is well regarded. This 2004 brick is reportedly made from old growth trees in the Menghai area and was meant to replicate the famous 97 brick.
Taiwan dry stored. Each full brick is 500 grams.
