2026 Kairbetta Winter Frost Nilgiri Black Tea
We are very pleased to be able to offer a winter frost Nilgiri black tea this year. They are very special and not made in much quantity. This year's offering is from the Kairbetta Estate, which sits at roughly 5,000 ft elevation. Early January was particularly cold, which made the leaves concentrate their aromatic compounds in a way that, combined with a hard wither, produced a tea very reminiscent of a first flush Darjeeling.
The tea is golden hued and light bodied with gorgeous aromatics of meadowy florals, butter, lemon, and even a hint of toastiness around the edges. It's a refreshing and beautiful tea.
